With over 15 years of experience in scientific measurements, including acoustics and thermal properties, Ian leads the Thermal Measurement Laboratory at the University of Salford. As the Head of Laboratory and Quality Manager, Ian oversees all operations and ensures compliance with UKAS accreditation standards. Ian has worked in collaboration with industry partners for over a decade, engaging in commercial testing and research projects. His work involves developing and implementing bespoke testing methods to better understand thermal, acoustic, and mechanical systems. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated flexibility and organisation in working with diverse teams and cultures, contributing to innovative solutions and advancements in the field. He is committed to working impartially and maintaining the confidentiality of clients’ data. In addition to his technical expertise, he has a focus on business development by building on existing client relations and developing new relationships. This dual focus on technical excellence and client engagement allows us to continually grow and meet the evolving needs of the industry.
