Energy House Labs has been featured in a new article by The Big Issue, showcasing how research at the University of Salford’s Energy House 2.0 facility is helping to understand how homes can perform in a changing climate.

The feature takes readers inside Energy House 2.0, where our full-sized homes are tested in controlled environments that can simulate extreme weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from -23.5°C to 51°C, alongside wind, rain, snow and solar radiation.

The article highlights how our researchers are testing technologies and approaches that could help improve energy efficiency, thermal comfort and the performance of homes during periods of extreme weather.

Professor Lubo Jankovic, Professor of Energy and Buildings at Energy House Labs, discusses how research at the facility is generating evidence to support industry and inform future building standards, including the Future Homes Standard.

Through collaboration with industry partners, we continues to provide a unique environment for testing and evaluating the technologies that will help shape the future of housing.
