Late last year we undertook some work at Energy House 1 for Anchor Magnets to provide testing of their Warmroom magnetic radiator foil project. The testing simulated space heating during a typical UK winter day, to measure the products ability to reduce heating costs and improve energy efficiency.
What is Warmroom?
Warmroom is an easy-to-use magnetic foil designed to prevent heat loss from radiators placed on external walls. With its reflective, low-emissivity surface, Warmroom reduces heat loss through walls behind radiators. It’s simple to install, requiring no tools or mess, and immediately delivers results.
Our Learnings
- Save on Heating Bills – Testing showed Warmroom reduced the space heating gas consumption of the Energy House on a typical UK winter day by 2.9%.
- Keep the Heat Inside – Under testing the product reduced heat loss through external walls behind radiators by an impressive 54%, with peak reductions of up to 66% during heating periods.
- Stay Cosy Without Compromise – During testing, no change in room temperature was measured, proving that you can save energy without sacrificing the warmth you need on chilly winter days.
Things to Consider
Warmroom is most effective in homes where most radiators are on external walls. Results will vary
depending on factors like:
- Radiator placement and wall insulation.
- Heating system settings and usage patterns.
Even so, Warmroom’s performance in controlled tests proves its potential to benefit a wide range of households.
